Dr. Dan The Dentist Man...

100th Post!!! WooHoo! Wow... who woulda thunk it?! I managed to actually keep up with this for as long as I have. But to be honest, I kinda love it. And dare I say, maybe even a little addicted.  My conversations with Caitlin have begun to always include a comment about one of the latest bloggers we follow.  But I don't think there's anything wrong with that. For one: I'm reading... mom. So I'm keeping up on my literacy. And 2: I don't think there's anything wrong with occasionally living vicariously through others. As long as it's only occasionally.

Alrighty, and since I couldn't sleep I thought I'd take the time to upload some artwork from the past semester...
(Hopefully I'll upload more.)
Assignment: Helen Bayley asked us to create a self portrait that tells us a story and gives us some insight into who we are and our lives.
Answer: Myself--with my teeth exposed. Why you may ask? Well, my father, Dr. Dan, is a pretty cool guy. And just so happens to be a dentist. Hence the teeth. I coincidentally happen to loathe going to the dentist. I hate it. Wouldn't wish it on the world... hence the apprehensive expression. And lastly, I try not to take myself too seriously... which is why I chose the pose, because let's face it, life would be a lot less fun if we didn't take the time to smile.

Sing Us a Song You're the Piano Man...

Reasons Why I Love Temple:
Reason 236: Impromptu piano rehearsals in room 324.
Towards the end of second semester Cait had been playing an amazing "Hedwig's Theme" from her Harry Potter Songs for Beginners book.

side note: both my mom and sister were apparently talking and wondering if I was alright recently. The reason for their concern: They had been checking my blog and I hadn't been blogging as readily as I have in the past.

Peter Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers..

Drew this photo of the Peter girls for Alex's graduation party today.  They are honestly one of the nicest families I have ever met in my life. Always staying so positive. Congrats Alex!
Today was a little rough. Kinda feel like I made a fool of myself. But, I can't change it now. So I'm going to take a page from the Peters... stay positive and move on. If it's meant to be...it's meant to be. (Fingers crossed)

Oh I Just Can't Wait to be King...

So my mom woke me up this morning by calling my cell phone and asking me to come down stairs and give her a hand with something. I groggily made it from my bed to the kitchen table within a few minutes to discover she had planned for us to make these Lion themes cupcakes for a party my sister was attending.
I actually had a lot of fun with the icing nose, mouth, and whiskers. But the lo-mein noodle manes were a little tedious.  We were pretty happy with how they turned out!

Black Warrior...

This is Tyler.
Tyler is loud.
Tyler is crazy.
Tyler is black.
And white.
Tyler is sarcastic.
And witty.
Tyler could pass as Barack Obama.
But that's not why I like him.
Tyler is understanding.
Over the top.
Hilarious.
Dedicated.
Talented.
Helpful.
and about a million other things that won't fit onto this list...
But most of all...
Tyler is my friend.
And today is his 19th birthday.
Happy Birthday Ty Jack.
Hope you have a wonderful day. And thank you for putting up with me and all my shenanigans.
Pictures of Tyler and I tee-pee-ing Caitlin's car with Amanda from Finland last summer!

Feature Presentation...

So today was pretty non-stop. In fact I actually just got home. It's like I never left college after all... but more about that later. This morning I went to church, came back and checked my e-mail to find out I had been featured HERE!!!! by the Gypsy Feet. If you haven't checked out their blog do it. It's a really clever project and concept. And all of their posts are incredibly interesting.
After telling my mom I had been featured (because I felt I needed to share it with at least one person and seeing as how I kinda created this blog with her in mind I thought she'd be an obvious choice) I went outside and helped her weed in the backyard. For the record I hate weeding. I downright despise it. Loath it. Wouldn't wish it on even my worst enemies... but I love my mother. And our deep conversations. So i gave up an hour of my time, burned my neck fire truck red, and had a spider bite my leg because I enjoy her company. Played tennis with dad. So windy. A lot of fun. Hadn't served in 8 months... that wasn't that fun. Went over to Kim's to have Tyler, Kim, and Liz cook me fettucini alfredo and cake. It was legit. But I'm not gonna lie I was skeptical because Kim was cooking, and thinking back on it--I have no recollection whatsoever of Kim ever cooking or hinting that she would like to try to cook before.  We watched My Bloody Valentine and I screamed like a little girl. I am terrified of horror movies.  Side Note: The 3-D glasses definitely weren't worth the 16 cents we paid for them.  Kim proceeded to laugh the entire movie.  I drove home alone... at 1:45 in the morning. I almost peed my pants... seriously I think I have a condition.  Now off to bed, where I'll probably have some creepy murder valentine related dream, wake up, and end up eating whatever we have in our fridge because I can't sleep. Life is good.
