Come on & Ease on Down, Ease on Down the Road...

Drawing Homework: Texture.
I decided to spend a few late night hours on Liacorus Walk in order to finish this assignment. I can't believe that this is the first homework assignment I've drawn outside this semester, everything else has fallen under still lifes or interior spaces.
Conte, Vine, Compressed on Strathmore.
It's going to be a very long week. Things to do:
1) Lino-Cut Prints for 2D
2) Photoshop Project for Computers
3) Make a kitchen and buy smoothie ingredients for 3D
4) Sketchbooks for 2D
(In that order.)

Dear Blog...

Dear Blog,
I'm sorry I've been neglecting you recently. It just happens to be really hectic here right now. And while I'm sure you are asking yourself why I haven't been sharing stories and pictures of why I've been so busy... it is partially because I've been soooooo sleepy and partially because I just got lazy. I'm sorry blog, don't be mad... I'm going to try and be better.  And to prove it, here are some photos of things I've done recently.
Went to Eastern State Penitentiary with the gang + Lauren + Drew.
It was by far one of the coolest/spookiest/more unexpected things I've done since being in Philly. But I loved it.
Had more adventures during a jam packed "Sibling Weekend!"
Went to the Italian Market for the first time!
Debated whether to get Pat's or Geno's...
We got Pats.
Little sister helped me in the Studio before she went back to Harrisburg...
Finally found out where this mural was and saw it in person. I have loved it since I saw it in Mike's mural book from Philly U.
Had dinner with Mike at the Nashery...
And Hannah came too!

Spent a really really really cold and long night cutting wood with Corrie and assembling a 3D project.

Spent a lovely night at the Melting Pot with Miss Gibson and the other lovely ladies.
It was my first time there and I got the honor of sitting next to the birthday girl, Miss Mary Penxa. Happy 20th Mar!
And on top of all this I've been doing sooo sooo sooo much work for my studio classes. Stressing out about classes for next semester. Working on mountains upon mountains of homework. Going to lectures and galleries. And pulling numerous all nighters. But, it should get better soon.

What a Drag...

May 6th I took the R5 to Thorndale with Caitlin. I enjoy train rides a lot. Sarah Daxton picked us up. I love her. She drove us home to Harrisburg. We got reall excited when we saw horse drawn buggies and sang songs from "Wicked" the entire way back.
I went to the CASA end of the year show. The theme this year was "Green" and it was wonderful. I miss all my old classmates so much.

I got to take Trey on a walk and see my family. Then I came back on the train. Stayed up all night and took my Art History Final. It was my birthday. Julie and Sam took me to Drexel to see Joe's show. It was magical. We were kinda a big deal there.

Zero To Hero In No Time Flat...

I missed watching Hercules with the 324 gang last night. It's ok though, we watched Power Rangers tonight. Besides, I need those long knock outs to reenergize from time to time. You know those days when you wake up relatively early and by the end of it you feel exhausted from the amount of work you've accomplished, even if you haven't accomplished all that much? That's exactly the kind of day I just had. And it isn't like I didn't get a lot accomplished, because I kind of did... it's more like I feel school narrowing down to an end and with it time running out and I can't help but be bombarded with thoughts of missing out on things to do before I leave. I think it's just nerves... that and it has been raining here for a few days. I haven't been outside for a while. Not in large increments at least. Anyways--point being-- I'm optimistic. I'm coming to terms with leaving school... because in reality it's only 4 months. 4 potentially excruciatingly long months... 4 potentially wonderful best summer of my life months. It's all in how I look at it. And seeing as how I'm not taking any summer classes, staying here is a little out of the question. Plus I miss my family.
So for now I'm going to look forward and be positive. I'm going to be optimistic. I've learned a lot this first year of school... time to implement my knowledge back in Central PA for a little while. Wish me luck!

Update: Upon publishing this post I checked my University E-mail. Not only did I realize I forgot to turn in a Quiz today for English, but I also forgot to submit work for the student run art show, as well as the fact that I'm suppose to install things for tomorrow... only thing is, I'm suppose to go home. Stay positive... stay positive.

Spring Cleaning...

Today was an interesting day. I never went to sleep last night. I was in one of the 2D studios working on one of my finals. I finished it around 7:40 this morning. I never changed my clothes. I'm sure my friends noticed. No one said anything though.  It was raining. I went to Art History. I got an A on my paper. I needed that. I went to Einstein Brothers. Ordered a Spinach Egg sandwich with provolone, lettuce, and tomato. It was perfectly made. I went to 2D. I turned in my project. My class really liked it. My teacher... not so much. She wasn't as impressed as I thought she would be. But she sort of changed her mind when we unfolded the book. Had an individual meeting with her. It went well. Turned in my other 2D project. I'm not exactly sure where I stand in that class... but I do feel as though I learned a lot.  I came home and fell asleep from 6:30 pm to 2: 30 am. I missed dinner. I'm starving. Caitlin made me express oatmeal. Makes me think of my mom, she always makes me oatmeal.  Brianne found my iPod in her room. Oh how I've missed it. Now I can ask for a new camera for my birthday (because all my friends make fun of my 9 year old one now.) Watched two episodes of Joan of Arcadia. So full of morals. So good. It was a good day... I guess I'm still a little hung up on my 2D project. I put so much more effort into it than some of my classmates (I know this because they told me) and yet she said that she wasn't overly impressed. I guess you win some and you lose some. I should be focusing more on the fact that i got an A on my paper... keep it positive! Today was also the last day of classes! I'm a little sad about my studios ending, but ready to be done with English and Art History. Gotta start cleaning my room, the rents are coming down this weekend to help me pack. Getting up bright and early tomorrow for a foundations cleanup session... of the joys of 2nd semester coming to a close.

Currently Listening to: Muse. Song: Starlight. (Highly recommended.)

Spray It All Gold...

I sprayed an Arizona Ice Tea can gold today! I love Arizona Ice Tea and I love these funny glasses I got in 3D too!
Hello dear reader! It is currently nearing one of my favorite times in these 24 hours we call a day. And let me tell you--boy has it been a jam packed nonstop work work work day!  It starts off around 12:45 pm when I wake up. Now I know what you're all thinking... what a lazy bum, but just wait! I got dressed like the Flash, one of my favorite superheroes, ran all the way across campus (and by ran I mean walked rather briskly), and fortunately made it to 3D on time! For you see we went back to Flux Space and Art Making Machine where Rika has her studio and worked on assembling four large paper mache Falcon pinatas--thrilling I know. Even more thrilling was the fact that 3/4ths of my class left at 6 pm leaving 5 of us to stay there untill 10 when we finally finished everything! But I have to say I really enjoyed the space and hanging out with Paige 1, Paige 2, Greg, Maddie, and Stern! And I made a new friend in Zurksees the Art Making Machine's studio cat.  (And believe me, I'm not exactly a cat person so this was a pretty big win on  his part).  I then came back to main campus crammmmed into the backseat of Rika's car, along with 4 of my classmates.
I thought my Catholic School friends from Harrisburg would appreciate this bus I saw parked outside of the SAC. It's the name of their school... only this ones in Philly...

Upon arriving back to campus I cleaned both the toilet and shower bathrooms because we are having a preliminary room check tomorrow! And let me just say-- my roommate and suite mates could do with enrolling in the "Ann Dunn School of Cleaning, Responsibility, and Household Chores".  Because if anyone could set them straight, it would be my mom. I have also been doing laundry periodically throughout the night just finishing my fourth, and last, load. I detest doing laundry #1-because there are never any machines available and #2-because I'm petrified my washers will never fully rinse (I had a bad experience right before I left for winter break)... Tonight my worst dreams came true when #2 occurred around 1 am  in machine 4.  But it'sok, my brother called and I talked to him for a while, which would account for why it is taking me so long to finish this post. But I love talking to him and it's always nice to hear what's going on his life. He's getting ready to graduate you know! But now, dear reader I think I'll let you go. For you see I have done all of this work and yet I have no time to rest. I have a 6 page English paper due tomorrow at 6 pm. And to date I only have an outline of my paper written. So until next time... stay positive. Relax. And I will talk to you soon.
Drawing Final progress as of last night... It's due Friday.
Wish me luck. (I'm gonna need it.)

Feed the Birds-Tuppence a Bag!

-Currently blogging from one of the drawing studios. It's wayyyy past m bedtime. And while you may be surprised to hear me say such a thing... it's college--who has a bedtime?! I have one constant in my life where bedtimes reign supreme--when I am not exactly feeling 100% and sadly my dear readers, this is one of those days. Strike that... weeks.

That's why I haven't been posting as often, but I'm trying desperately to get better! Have no fear I have become a professional when it comes to chugging OJ and have transitioned quite easily into my "sleeping sitting up so my nosed doesn't run or clog or stop working all together" position. Quite an accomplishment come to think of it!
In the meantime... here is my furthest progress on my drawing final (due in 4 days!?!!!) I finally buckled down and started my actual self... any thoughts?!

Side Note: I'm getting ready to pack up and head home during my favorite time on campus!!!

A little Over My Head...

Ok--So I may be getting a little over my head in the amount of work that I have to do over the next week or so.  And I can't help but think about how all I want to do is sleep... I have been working really hard and seem to have lost all of the free time, while it wasn't much before, that I had last semester.  I need to come up with a new strategy for time management... because this not sleeping process really isn't working for me anymore.  In the meantime here's a list of things I have to do before next Wednesday. (Maybe if I put them on here I'll be more inclined to get them done in a timelier fashion. Who knows, It could happen?)

1. Go in to 3D to see if I can book the projector and cut a piece of mirror.
